What is the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing? (2021-2030)
The United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030) is a global collaboration, consistent with the sustainable development goals of the past decade. It brings together government, civil society, international institutions, professionals, academia, media, and the private sector. Improve the lives of older people, their families, and the communities in which they live. Populations around the world are aging faster than in the past, and this demographic transition will have an impact on almost all aspects of society. There are more than 1 billion people aged 60 or over, most of whom live in low- and middle-income countries. Many people do not even have access to the basic resources needed for a meaningful and dignified life. Many others face multiple obstacles and cannot fully participate in society. The COVID-19 pandemic highlights the severity of existing gaps in policies, systems, and services.
